Arwin / Biochem: Rose Rejuvenate Essence Review
When it comes to skincare, I believe simplicity is the way to go. Instead of slapping on products after products on my face, my go to routine has always been cleanser – toner – eye cream – moisturizer. Every other day, I’ll do facial mask.
However, as I age, I came to realization that my skin needs more than just basic skincare. It needs some sort of booster, and Biochem Rose Rejuvenate Essence came to me just in time.
Arwin / Biochem Rose Rejuvenate Essence is a Taiwan product. Extracted from rosehip, the essence helps to improve the slow secretion of sebum, acne, pores, dull and dark spots. It is effective for oil-control, and speed up the collagen synthesis to prevent aging-skin and smoothen fine lines.
The main ingredients of this essence are:
– Rose water, Rosehip extract
– Multiflora rose extract
– Champagne rose extract
– Gold foil (yes, gold foil!!)
The essence is quite watery and has a very mild rose scent to it. Personally, I’m not a fan of scented skincare; but if you do, you’d probably enjoy the floral scent.
I apply the essence both day and night after my toner, and have been using it for more than 2 weeks now. When I first applied the essence, it felt a little bit sticky on my face, but it went away very fast. I’m amazed by how fast and how easily for my skin to absorb the essence.
Usually, my skin will be super oily at the end of the day, and my acne scars will start to show. But, after I started using the essence, I noticed the oiliness is now under control and my makeup stays better on days when I applied the essence.
Personally, I like how the essence moisturized and keep my skin hydrated throughout the day. On the other, I don’t really like the rose scent and yet to see any improvement on my open pores and dark spots.
With gold flakes as part of the ingredients, you can expect the price to be on the high side.
